I really liked this Most Dangerous Game-exploitationer with an international cast and some nices 70s sleaze/terror/revenge-movie touches. The swedish VHS is uncut I believe, but cuts right to trailers after the last scene, which makes for a shorter running time.

Extras: Videodagbok, TV4 featurette, Fredzillas bakomfilm, Bortklippta scener, Outtakes/Bloopers, Special effects, Kommentarspår, Trailers

Pathetic swedish try at the teen slasher genre. It's so bad it's... just really, really bad. But I guess it's my patriotic film nerd duty to own a copy of this embaressing dud (found it at a flea-market for 2 dollars, just the right price)... not that i'm much of a patriot anyway, just an idiot for buying this. The line "you should have puked on his dick!" in broken english is classic though. Also see: Blödaren (1983)

Pretty good fullscreen print. Unfortunely it's the short 1h22m version. It's a really nice gothic peplum that deserves a better release.

Hilarious Travolta-sploitation with dance sequences that makes you pee your pants with laughter! All the comedy in this comedy is unintentional of course. A party classic.

PHILLIPINES, 1978

Starring Tony Ferrer, D'Urville Martin, Leo Fong & Fred Williamson

Directed by Efren C. Piñon

Transworld (Sweden); Fullscreen; English with swedish subtitles

Really silly, but fun, fillipino action/heist/comedy about a bunch of blind robbers (the... ahem... perfect plan: who would suspect a blind guy?). In the last five minutes Fred Williamson arrives to save the day! (even semi-stars needs to pay the rent)
It's sometimes hard to see where the intentional and unintentional comedy ends and begins, but who cares, really?

BLASTFIGHTER

BAD RONALD

USA, 1974

Starring Scott Jacoby, Pippa Scott & John Larch

Directed by Buzz Kulik

MDC (Sweden); Fullscreen; English with swedish subtitles

Really creepy TV movie about a shy, weird nerd who accidentaly kills a school bully and is hidden in a secret room in the house by his over protective mother. When the mother dies from an operation Ronald continues living in the secret room, even when a new family with two young daughters move in. Ronald drills a hole in the wall and the family becomes increasingly suspicios when they start hearing noices and food and other stuff start mysteriously dissapearing. In the meantime Ronald starts to lose more and more grip with reality until he finally starts believing he's the prince of his made up fantasy land called Atranta, and that the princess (the cute young daughter) needs to be saved... and then it's time for Ronald to come out... brrr... Highly recommended.

NEVER TOO YOUNG TO DIE

USA, 1986

Starring John Stamos, Vanity, Gene Simmons, George Lazenby, Tara Buckman & Robert Englund

Directed by Gil Bettman

Transworld (Sweden); Fullscreen; English with swedish subtitles
Unbelievable, embarrasing 1980s action-martial arts-espionage turkey with Gene Simmons as the dragqueen, anarchist supervillian Velvet von Ragnar (!) who shouts stuff like: "I'm gonna poison their water supply! For gold! For ransom! For jewels! For money!". It's Gymkata meets James Bond on bad drugs. Yikes.

Italy, 1988

Starring Chris Ahrens, Clarissa Mendez & James Mitchum

Directed by Tonino Ricci

HMV Movies (Japan); Widescreen; English with japanese subtitles

Bizarre mixture of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Rambo and some sci-fi. It's not particulary "good" as in well-made but arguably one of the more entertaining films in the deadly dull genre of italian Indiana Jones-copies. At least it's action-packed, offbeat and never gets boring. By hack director Tonino Ricci, of all people.

ROBOWAR

BLOOD TRACKS

a.k.a Heavy Metal

Sweden / USA, 1985

Starring Kee Marcello, Ziny Zan, Jeff Harding, Michael Fitzpatrick & Naomi Kaneda

Directed by Mats Helge

CIC (Japan); Fullscreen; English with japanese subtitles; Uncut

Another entertaining miss from the great swedish auter Mats "Ninja Mission" Helge, this time he's in slasher territory! The hair metal band Solid Gold (played by real life hair metal band Easy Action) and a bunch of horny models are shooting a rock video in an abandoned (?) factory in the snowy mountains - but guess what, the factory is also inhabited by a family of deranged mutants who have not grasped the concept of hospitality! Bad but entertaining flick with lots of cheezy moments, bad fashion and clumsy gore. In what other film can you watch Kee Marcello from Europe get decapitated?

I also have a DVD-R of the cut swedish release.

CROSS MISSION

a.k.a Fuoco Incrociato (original title)

Italy, 1988

Starring Richard Randall, Nelson de la Rosa & Brigitte Porsche

Directed by Alfonso Brescia

Columbia (Japan); Widescreen; English with japanese subtitles

OK italo action, a little better than average (which is not saying much). What makes it a keeper is the warped scenes with the world's shortest actor Nelson de la Rosa, from Ratman, as the magic midget mascot (!) of the evil drug baron.

HEROD THE GREAT

a.k.a Erode il Grande (original title)

Italy, 1959

CRUEL JAWS

a.k.a Jaws 5: Cruel Jaws (USA); The Beast; Jaws '96 (Japan video title)

Italy / USA, 1995

Starring a bunch of n00bs

Directed by "William Snyder"... you're not fooling anybody, Bruno Mattei

SHVY (Japan); Widescreen; English with japanese subtitles

BAAAAD scene-by-scene "remake" of Jaws, with lots of liften scene from The Last Jaws, Deep Blood and, I think, even some tinted scenes from the original Jaws! And the soundtrack is liften from Star Wars!!! Theaving de luxe, braindead script and some truly atrocious acting makes for hilarious Grade Z entertainment. Just like Troll 2 you sometimes wonder if the director was in on the joke.

CURSE OF THE RED BUTTERFLY

a.k.a ???

Turkey, 197?

Starring Gordon Mitchell, Yilmaz Köksal & Bulut Aras

Directed by ???

Tohokunshinsa (Japan); Fullscreen; English with japanese subtitles

This mysterious movie is often confused with the italian/turkish movie Quando i Califfi Avevano le Corna, also with Mitchell, but it appears to be a competely different movie. It's clearly a turkish action-adventure from the 70s, but the (bad) synth music screams 1980s. I have no idea... Anyway, it's pretty entertaining if you don't expect too much and the japanese release has norweigan (!!) text on the cover!

DEEP BLOOD

a.k.a Sangue Negli Abissi (original title); Sharks (Japan)

Italy, 1989

Starring Franco Baroni, Allen Cort & Keith Kelsch

Directed by Joe D'Amato

SHV (Japan); Fullscreen; English with japanese subtitles

Lame shark movie by D'Amato. I liked the old indian guy though. Parts of this film ended up in the lovely killer shark turkey Cruel Jaws.

FINAL SCORE

Indonesia, 1986

Starring Christopher Mitchum, Mike Abbott & Ida Asha

Directed by Arizal

Columbia (Japan); Fullscreen; English with japanese subtitles

Amazing indonesian "B" (or even "C") actioner with Chrisopher Mitchum blowing stuff up for 90 minutes straight. Another Arizal classic, it's almost up there with The Intruder and The Stablizer.

FORBIDDEN WORLD

a.k.a Mutant

USA, 1982

Starring Jesse Vint, Dawn Dunlap, June Chadwick & Linden Chiles

Directed by Allan Holzman

Columbia Video (Japan); Fullscreen; English with japanese subtitles

Dumb, entertaining Alien-ripp off from Corman's b-movie factory. This tape has the longest version released but unfortunelt the nudity is fogged. There's also an uncut german DVD, but the quality is nothing to cheer for. You can't have it all sometimes...
